Karl Anderson Rosner Y Asst Coach

Bronze - Lead Coach

I have been around swimming my whole life. I joined my first year-round team when I was four (Dale City Amberjax). I swam for the Quantico Devil Dolphins for most of my childhood, before making a senior year of high school switch to the RAYS. I swam for three years at Mary Washington College.

Outside of swimming, I am married with three children who play various sports; sometimes they have been known to swim, run or rock-climb. I am a technology nerd and am always looking for new ways to integrate technology and swimming together.

My philosophy of coaching is that the process is what is most important. The results are the byproduct of what you put into the process, how you adapt to the process and understanding the decisions you make along the way. I strive to form a mind-body connection, in and out of the water, with the athletes I coach. I try to create an atmosphere of inquisitiveness where the athletes are encouraged to ask me questions and wonder why they should try to change something in their training. I consider the best quality of a coach to be the ability to "facilitate" a conversation with an athlete, parent or another coach to make those they coach better.

In the end, better athletes make better swimmers. Better teammates make better people. Better people make a better world.

  • All conference team

As a coach it is his dream to give back to the sport by teaching boys &  girls the same love for the sport that he has discovered.  He believes it is more about teaching them skills and drills and  allowing them to enjoy swimming, not just yardage.  Logan wants your swimmers to look forward to showing up to the pool  for practice. It is his goal that they leave the practice with the  same smile they had when they entered.
